Bahrain hosts Arabian Peninsula Museums Conference

Manama, Oct. 11 (BNA): President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, has inaugurated the Arabian Peninsula Museums Conference at Bahrain National Museum.

The conference is attended by more than 70 experts and academicians from around the world taking place on October 11-13 as part of the Authority's programme for the current year themed "Our Heritage.. Our History."

The conference is co-organized by Dr. Sarina Wakefield the Director of the Arabian Peninsula Chain of Museums who is also Professor of Fine Arts and Creative Industries at UAE-based Zayed University; and, Ethnology Professor Laila Prager of Hamburg University, Germany who is also a researcher in New York University's branch in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The event offers a unique opportunity to boost dialogue among academicians, researchers and proponents of human arts, culture and heritage.
