New Delhi, Aug. 5 (BNA): At least 20 people died after two trains derailed when monsoon rains flooded the railway tracks, according to an Indian official.

The Kamayani Express was on its way to Mumbai when it derailed last night, while the Janata Express was traveling in the opposite direction when it derailed soon after.

Railway official Anil Saksena said the tracks collapsed after flash floods in the region, with at least two coaches partially submerged in a river.

He added that most passengers had been pulled out to safety, but rescue workers continue to search for more passengers who may be trapped in the wreckage.
