May 13 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza will speak about Bahrain’s achievements in renewable energy and its progress towards achieving the goals of sustainable development, especially that of clean energy and steps taken by the government in encouraging investment in the field for comprehensive development.
Dr. Mirza will be among several ministers and heads of organisations and senior officials who will participate in the Vienna Forum on Sustainable Energy.
He was invited to the forum by the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to attend the event, to be held from May 14 at the Vienna International Conference Centre.
Bahrain will also present the National Voluntary Review Report (VNR) in preparation for the high-level political forum to be held in New York in July.
The Vienna forum is a high-level gathering of elite decision-makers in the renewable energy sector from all over the world.
This year's event will focus on reviewing the global progress of sustainable development goals and will be an appropriate opportunity to exchange experiences on sustainable energy and successful and innovative business models to improve energy efficiency in developing countries.
