Riyadh, July 9 (BNA): Bahraini Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Hmood bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, has congratulated the President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH), HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Eastern Region Governor, HRH Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saudi following UNESCO's listing of Al-Ahsa Oasis as world heritage site.
The ambassador was speaking following his participation in the ceremony held at the Al-Qaysariya Souq in the Eastern region marking the occasion.
He lauded the efforts exerted in order to register the site among UNESCO’s heritage sites.
The envoy extended sincere congratulations to the Saudi leadership and brotherly people on the landmark achievement, stressing that the Al-Ahsa Oasis deserves to be named a world heritage site given its historical importance in the Arabia Peninsula.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of the SCTH president and the Eastern Region Governor.
