Kuwait, Dec. 29 (BNA): The death toll in Iran from an H1N1 swine flu outbreak has risen to 112 people.
"About 1,190 people have been diagnosed with the (H1N1) virus and hospitalized in three months" and "the death toll has reached 112," Mohammad Mehdi Gouya, head of the ministry's communicable diseases department, told the state news agency (IRNA).
"Vaccines and laboratory equipment for diagnosis are available around the clock across the country." He, however, regretted that the vaccines are not 100 percent effective in all cases. The outbreak was under control and the number of new cases was expected to decline in the coming days, Gouya said.
