Rho, Milan, Sept. 15 (BNA): Turkey's national day at Expo Milan on Monday was opened with a message of solidarity and cooperation from Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci.
He said he "ascribes great importance to the participation in the Expo event, with a pavilion which is open to all cultures," according to Italian News Agency (AGI).
He went on: "Not one country in the world can still think of feeding its peoples and ignoring other countries. If countries where people do not suffer from hunger learned how to save food, we could all feed our people and no child would die of starvation." Turkey was ready to cooperate with all countries to make the world a better and sustainable place to live, so that food and nutrition would no longer be an issue, he said.
Turkish and Italian delegation members then visited each others pavilions. Both ministers were to take part in the Turkey-Italy Business Forum. Expo visitors can participate in workshops, food tasting sessions and performances. There was also a three-a-side football testimonial match for champions Roberto Mancini and Okan Buruk, AGI reported.
