Manama, June 13 (BNA): A sclerosis centre is to be constructed in Bahrain, as part of the Muharraq Medical Complex.

The ceremony was attended by Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, Undersecretary for Works Affairs Ahmed Al-Khayyat, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospital Affairs Dr. Mohammed Amine Al-Awadhi and other officials.

Under the agreement, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning will construct the medical facility on behalf of the Ministry of Health.

The National Bank of Bahrain has granted a donation to finance the sclerosis centre, whose construction will cost up to BD1.7 million.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf said that the project follows the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa.

“Work on the sclerosis centre, which will cover 800 square metres, is expected to be completed by mid-2020”, said Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf.

The Muharraq Medical Complex also includes a 100-bed long-residence care centre, an 85-bed maternity hospital and an elderly care centre.
