Solid Bahraini-Japanese relations hailed

Manama, Feb. 15 (BNA): Southern Governor, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, received here today the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain, Kiyoshi Asako.

The ambassador conveyed to the governor a verbal message of thanks and appreciation addressed by HM Emperor Akihito of Japan to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa in reply to his congratulations on Japan’s National Day and the emperor’s birthday.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali reviewed with the envoy the solid Bahraini-Japanese relations, as well as bilateral cooperation which is progressing steadily thanks to the interest of the two friendly countries’ leaderships.

The advanced level of joint cooperation has contributed to increasing the volume of bilateral cultural, economic and trade exchange.

The Japanese ambassador lauded the governor’s efforts and interest in bolstering relations between the two countries, as well as his support for joint events and functions, citing HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali’s honorary presidency of the Bahrain-Japan Friendship Society (BJFS).

The governor wished Ambassador Kiyoshi Asako every success in his future assignments.
