Mubasher: The UK has received a total of 659,466 travellers from four Gulf states, namely KSA, UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain in 2016, according to a recent report by the Arabian Travel Market (ATM).

The GCC visitors to the UK increased by 6.6% or almost 5,000 in 2016 compared to the previous year.

In 2016, the UK welcomed over 350,000 visitors from the UAE; more than 150,000 from KSA; over 100,000 from Kuwait, and almost 50,000 from Bahrain.

GCC visitors to the European country included nationals as well as expatriate residents.

“The average spent per trip to the UK by visitors from KSA, UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain, per person, ranged from $1,150 to $3,153 in 2016. With a choice of 32 weekly direct flights to the UK, visitors from Saudi Arabia alone spent $485 million in 2016, the highest average spent per visit of any of the UK’s source markets,” senior exhibition director at the Arabian Travel Market, Simon Press, said.

This international travel & tourism trade show will be held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 22 to 25 April 2018.
